Coming to us from halfway around the world, the Japanese dub-master iso:Я is bringing the heat for his debut Warpaint Records release in the form of a new two-track EP. Featuring the heavy-hitting Dubstep title track, as well as a banging Glitch Hop collaboration with Ukrainian bass beast Igor Graphite, this latest release from iso:Я is sure to make you Move.

‘Move’ serves as iso:Я’s fourth official EP release to date, showing us that he has no shortage of creative content to share with the world. However, seeing as how this is his first record out on Warpaint, we decided to catch up with iso:Я and get the scoop on the newest addition to our Tribe:

How long have you been producing music, and who are your biggest inspirations?

It’s been about three years since I started producing Dubstep. Before that, I was playing guitar and singing in heavy metal bands. It’s difficult to say who my biggest inspirations are. All the music I’ve ever heard gives me inspiration.

After successful releases with KJ Sawka’s Impossible Records, Downlink’s Uplink Audio, and even Multikill Recordings, what sparked your interest in working with Warpaint Records?

I think Warpaint is in a period of rapid growth, and the brand really fits my style. Plus I’m Japanese, so I can’t help but be interested in Sushi Boy! Haha

What were your inspirations behind the Move EP and how was it working with Igor Graphite?

The title track “MOVE” is aimed to be kind of a throwback track. I really wanted to produce something similar to the mood of the Dubstep coming out a few years ago, like around 2012 and 2013 . And with the second track, I really wanted to make a Glitch Hop collab with Igor Graphite. His Glitch Hop tunes are all so dope! “Swing”. “Addiction”. “The Abyss”. There are too many to count… For “Riot City”, I produced basic idea. Then Igor added his parts and finished it up. He did an awesome job and the final product was so much more than I expected. I really enjoyed collaborating with him. His work helped bring a heavy groove to the tune. Plus he’s just a really good guy!

Where do you see your career and music in 5 years?

I want to play in America and Canada. In Japan, the Dubstep scene is really too small. It would be wonderful if I could play at EDC’s Basspod sometime. Anyone book me? lol

Any last words for the fans?

I’m really looking forward to this release! Thanks for listening guys!

We are beyond stoked to have iso:Я on board with the Warpaint team, and cannot wait to see what else he has in store for us. The Move EP is now available to stream and download in its entirety. Go grab your copy and get moving!
